Circle of Friends offers classroom and community-based special education programs that bring special education and therapeutic services to children in the most appropriate, least restrictive, or natural environment. This can be the home (particularly for very young children) or a general education classroom setting. An important aspect of this program is the commitment to collaboration and communication between parents, therapists, and educators.
Services for children are determined through an evaluation process in either Early Intervention (birth to three years of age) or the Committee on Preschool Special Education (three to five years of age). When approved by the local county Early Intervention (EI) or local school district Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), the services are then provided. Each child receives services that meet his or her specific needs.
